WEDF Announces 5th Academy of Award Recipients

The Worcester Educational Development Foundation’s (WEDF) Distinguished Alumni and Friends of the Worcester Public Schools Awards committee today announced its 2015 honorees to be recognized at their reception and dinner to be held at The College of the Holy Cross on Wednesday, November 4.
This annual event recognizes former students of the Worcester Public Schools who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career pathways and also recognizes corporations, community agencies, foundations, and other entities that support the Worcester Public Schools as friends.
Stephen Pitcher, WEDF president said, "We are proud to honor the distinguished alumni who received their educational foundation in the Worcester Public Schools and have gone on to excel in their respective fields."
"Being recognized for my achievements in the community for cancer advocacy and hunger relief by the WEDF, made me VERY proud to be a graduate of the Worcester Public Schools... something I hadn’t thought about in for a very long time. When I stood with the other honorees, many of who had gone on to do great things across the globe, I was humbled," shared Audrey Kurlan Marcy of the 2013 Academy of Distinguished Alumni and Friends of the Worcester Public Schools.
